Article in the Goldsboro News Argus this week!
I had a lovely conversation with Phyllis Moore about my decision to run for Board of Education and my heart for the students, teachers, and parents of Wayne County. I was delighted to see that her article included a balanced report with my opponent's experience and heart for students as well.
As I've said before, my decision to run isn't anything personal against the incumbent. I've heard nothing but good things about him from mutual friends. I'm not running "against" him in particular, but because I see a voice missing on our school board - the voice of a mom of current public school students. One of the things I think is great about this race is that regardless of which of us you vote for, I think you'll be getting a representative of good character who cares about the students of Wayne County. There is no bad choice.
But I would encourage you to read what each of us has to say about why we are running and what we would bring to the table, not just in this article, but on both of our websites, social media pages, etc. And then decide which person you think would do the best job in the At-Large position which represents all students in all districts across the county.
I'm serious, I'm not going to tell you to vote for me. I'm going to tell you to vote your conscience, what you think is best. Because that's what this whole voting process is all about!
